I recently spent a delightful city break at Hotel Milano in Hildesheim, and it was just the peaceful getaway I needed between my marine biology expeditions. The spacious restaurant served an Italian breakfast that helped fuel our exploration of the quaint city and lovely natural spots like Hohnsensee Lake—we even managed to sneak in some eco-conscious discussions over breakfast! One of my favorite features was the elegant bar—it’s the perfect spot to unwind with a drink after a day of sightseeing, all while surrounded by its chic, white furnishings. Plus, with free WiFi, I could easily check in on my colleagues and all things marine while sipping on a lovely glass of wine. The hotel's location is fantastic, being quite central yet nestled in a calm area—just what I wanted for some true relaxation. If you're traveling with friends or family, the accommodating atmosphere here makes it a great choice for a laid-back stay. So, if you're looking for a charming base to explore the Viking heritage and stark beauty of the Nordic region, Hotel Milano is definitely a place I'd recommend!
